Theysulavuthey

Theysulavuthey | Upload Music

Composer: Adi Narayana Rao
Original Vocalists: Ghantasala, P. Susheela
Movie: Manaalane mangayin bhagyam

It has been my constant dream to record this fascinating song. In every talent show in India this song is sung because it is such a challenging one. The Hindi version is ‘Kuhu Kuhu bole koyaliya’ sung by Lata Mangeshkar.

My version of this song is what I call – slower and lower. :D I’ve done my best to get all the sangathis. Special thanks to Anupama for teaching me some of the sangathis. :) There are places in the recording where the beats go off. Anyhow, here it is!

Kuzhaloodhum Kannanukku

Kuzhaloodum Kannanukku | Online recorder
Composer: Illayaraja
Original Vocalist: Chitra
Movie: Mella Thirandhadhu Kadhavu
Karaoke Track: Tamilmusica.com; Me, Audacity

Finally, a song from Illayaraja in Tamil. Growing up listening to ARR, I never really listened to much of Raja until just 2 or 3 years ago. And even then, it was passive listening. Very recently, after experiencing 'Illaya Nila' from the movie 'Payanangal Mudivadhillai', I can see why people refer to him as God. I think for the very first time after 'Mandram Vantha' from 'Mouna Raagam', his music truly touched me.

Kuzhaloodhum Kannanukku was made into the Hindi version of 'Baatein Hawa Hain Saare' in 'Cheeni Kum' sung by Shreya Ghoshal. After listening to the Tamil version, I like it much better than the Hindi.

Ondra Renda

Ondra Renda Aasaigal | Online recorder
Composer: Harris Jeyaraj
Original Vocalist: Bombay Jayashree
Lyricist: Thamarai
Movie: Kaaka Kaaka
Karaoke Track: Me, Sound Forge

My fave from Bombay Jayashree after Vaseegara. Her husky voice adds to the romance of the song, as do the lyrics. I think there is a Hindi version of this song too.
